PINKALICIOUS!!!

For those of you who don't know who Pinkalicious is she is a character from a book series. A somewhat eccentric little girl who loves the color pink. Mya owns every single book except one (which we are now in the process of finding) plus the journal, the sticker book & the sketch book (don't ask). It is no secret that Mya loves books in general but Pinkalicious is a definite favorite. Probably due to the fact that not only do they share a favorite color but Pinkalicious has an imaginary pet unicorn. You have to admit...if you were 5 that would be pretty cool!

This past Saturday the Children's Theater had a cupcake party followed by a play based on the original book in the series. In the story Pinkalicious eats too many pink cupcakes & actually turns pink! We weren't really sure what to expect but the day turned out to be very nice.

The party was actually held in a bar that sits next door to the theater. The upper floor is actually a party room with a rooftop patio. When we arrived they had crafts & games set up. Mya played pin the cherry on the cupcake & got to make a crown, a wand, & a bracelet.

Then we were served lunch which was finger sandwiches, veggies, fruit, pink lemonade, &, of course, pink cupcakes for dessert!

While we were eating Pinkalicious showed up with some of her friends. She came over & talked for a long time with Mya. She asked if Mya was coming to the show & asked her to come down to the stage afterwards to see her.

After lunch Pinkalicious read a story & sang a couple of songs. Then she mingled with the kids for a minute before heading off to get ready for the show.

Mya could hardly wait to walk next door & for the show to begin after that.

We weren't allowed to take pictures inside the theater but the play was really cute & Mya loved every minute of it. Afterwards we did go down to the stage & stopped to say Hi one more time to Pinkalicious. True to her word she remembered Mya & said, "I was wondering if you would come down & see me, Mya". And she autographed Mya's playbill. It made Mya's day!!!

It was a pretty amazing day in the life of a 5-year-old girl. :)
