MYA IS A TODDLER!!!!

As I told you in my last update Mya has been working towards the toddler room at her daycare. This Monday will be her first day as a full-fledged toddler!! We had hoped it would be a few days sooner; however, Mya got sick & had to stay home for 3 days which set her transition back a little bit. It is well worth the wait though because Mya has been more than ready for this for a long time. She is fitting in very well with all her new friends & seems very happy.
What caused her to miss 3 days: Mya actually had a strain of hand, foot & mouth disease that she got from other children at daycare. It took quite a bit of time to get her completely over it & we both caught a little of it in the process, but she is doing great again now.

TEETH!!

Finally a decent picture of her upper & lower choppers!!
(She's cracking up because she just blew milk bubbles in her cup)

OUR TRIP TO TWINSBURG

Last weekend Daddy had to go up to Twinsburg, OH to work. Every year they hold a twins festival & Daddy was helping to fingerprint sets of twins for research purposes. He asked Mya & I if we would like to go along just to have a weekend away. Daddy had to work a lot so it was mainly a girl's weekend. Mya & I had a pretty good time.

On Saturday we went to the zoo. We walked through the Austrailian Outback exhibit, petted the sharks & stingrays, & rode a tram up a huge hill to see the big cats. Mya loved all of the fish in the aquariums & walked around in that building for a long time which was ok by me since it was extremely hot outside. Mya's favorite part was a big lion that was cooling its' self in a spot close to the glass. Mommy's favorite part was the family of koalas that had an adorable little baby.

On my own it was hard to snap a lot of pictures, but on the right are a couple from our zoo visit. TOP: Mya outside the Australian exhibit. There were only ropes seperating us from some of the smaller kangaroos & wallabys. We kept hoping one would come closer, but they stayed in the shade & played instead. BOTTOM: There was a man playing a didgeridoo & Mya was completely fascinated. If I hadn't pulled her away practically by force, I think she may have stood there & listened for hours.

Afterwards we stopped by the festival to visit Daddy & then went out to dinner together.

We had planned to spend Sunday at the park, but, unfortunately, it rained really hard & we weren't able to go outside. Instead we went out to lunch & then to mall where Mya got a brand new pair of tennis shoes. She's up to a size 4 now! (Don't be fooled that that means she's much bigger otherwise. While at the doctor's for her sickness she still weighed in at a tiny 19 lbs.)

In between our adventures Mya & I spent a lot of time lounging in our hotel room. Watching silly tv shows, eating fruit snacks, & cuddling.

MEETING DARCY

Mommy's cousins Mandy & Josh got a new puppy dog, Darcy, a couple of weeks ago. On Tuesday we finally got a chance to go over & meet her. She's a bassett with absolutely adorable ears. Mya had fun petting her & then decided to try out Darcy's cage.

MYA SHOWED GRANDPA & DADDY HER BELLY

THEN GRANDMA SHOWED MYA GRANDPA'S BELLY!

Today we went with Grandpa & Grandma Culp to vist Grandpa's family in Wellston. Mya stayed close to Daddy & I most of the day, but enjoyed watching all the other kids playing on the tire swing & some of the bigger 'kids' dancing.

A STRAY CAT HAD KITTENS NEAR JOYCE'S (GRANDPA'S SISTER) HOUSE & THEY CAME OUT TO PLAY WITH MYA. SHE SEEMED TO LIKE THAT THEY WERE JUST HER SIZE.
