Who Knew That A Lawn Chair Could Be So Much Fun!!!

Like everyone else we spent this weekend soaking up the gorgeous weather. Mya already loves being outside as much as possible. When she has to come back inside for any reason she cries & then stands at the sliding-glass window staring out like a sad, little puppy.
On Saturday, we spent the majority of the day out on the patio. This was the first time we have had a chance to put the patio cushions out & for some reason Mya thinks they are a blast to sit in.

Uncle Quinn & Lisa came over & joined us for grilled kabobs & a fire in our pit. Before her bedtime Mya had a good time with both of them.

At 1 year old she already enjoys gabbing with the girls.

Of course, she couldn't resist a romp on the lawn with Uncle Quinn & the puppies, too.

The Bumps & Bruises Have Begun...

All babies get a few boo-boos when they are learning to walk & when they are playing outside. Since Mya is doing both at the same time she definitely got her injury count off to a running start this weekend. A slide down from one cement step to the next left an ugly little scrap on her lower back. The brick patio was less than forgiving to her knees. And to round off the weekend she took a hard fall and hit her eye on the coffee table at Mark & Paula's house. Add all the dirt & grime to the picture & you can barely recognize are pretty little girl.

New Walking Shoes!

Daycare News.....

Friday night we took Mya to get her first pair of Striderites. She is officially a very normal size 3. It took her a few minutes to get used to the feeling of them, but she already seems more sure-footed than before.
Mya has begun her trek out of the Infant Room & is headed boldly to the Toddler Room. She has already achieved 2 of the 4 requirements by giving up bottles & learning to feed herself. Over the next couple of months she needs to learn to walk (which we know is only weeks away) & to sleep on a cot. This is something that the teachers will begin to work with her on. In the meantime, they have been taking her to visit the Toddler room to get her used to the new faces & environment. They can transition any time from 15 to 18 months & we are very proud of Mya that she is probably going to be closer to the 15 month mark.
