2 BIG WEEKS FOR MYA
Please forgive the 2 week lapse. It's been an extremely busy time for everyone in the Culp house. Mya has been doing so many new things that I hardly know where to begin. Every day she gets around better & better all by herself. She's on the verge of taking her first unsupported steps, but doesn't quite trust herself enough to let go yet. Being independent as usual she won't let anyone help her, but that doesn't stop her from getting into all kinds of things & places that she shouldn't.

Such as the refrigerator! |
Most notably her adventures have taken her up the stairs. Daddy showed her one time how to put her knee on the next step & up, up, up she went all the way to the top! When she got there she sat down, looked back at us, & giggled like crazy!! Daddy thinks it's hillarious...it scares Mommy to death.
She also took her first walk on the sidewalk. With the help of her hippo, of course, but she walked by herself all the way to our neighbor, Audra's, driveway & a little way back before deciding she wanted to be carried.
Also, on her list of accomplishments is the beginning of a tooth. About 1 week ago we felt the edge of it sticking just threw the gum. So far it hasn't come out far enough to actually see, but we are keeping a close eye on it.

PINK EYE STRIKES!
Unfortunately, we also spent a couple of days battling pink eye. Although they looked horrible her eyes healed very quickly. She wasn't allowed at daycare so Mommy picked her up halfway through one day & we stayed home as well the next day. Oddly, she ran a fairly high fever at the same time so she slept for good chunks of the time, but by the 3rd day was basically back to herself.

FAMILY NEWS

GRANDPA COMES HOME
For those of you who may not know, Grandpa Jim had been in hospital for a little over 2 weeks. He was very sick & we were actually worried for a time that we might lose him. Thankfully, things started to turn around for him & he has been getting a little better with each passing day. Early last week Grandma was able to bring him home to care for him there in the hopes that his familiar surroundings will speed his recovery even more. Thanks to everyone who has been keeping him in your thoughts.

We miss meeting you for dinner, Grandpa, so keep up the hard work & feel much better very soon!!! |
MYA & MOMMY GO TO LISA'S BABY SHOWER
UNCLE ZANE & AUNT JEANIE FIND A NEW HOME!
Lisa had a great shower. She & Uncle Quinn got tons of wonderful gifts & are now just about ready for Natalie to make her appearance. We can hardly believe it's less than a month away now!
They are still wrapping up all the final details of work & home in New Mexico, but will be moving in the next month to this house in San Antonio. We think it's very pretty & we can't wait to go out for our first visit & put our mark on the 4th bedroom. |
