MYA TURNS 1!!!!!
|
With the big party scheduled for this coming Saturday we decided to have a nice quiet birthday at home for just the 3 of us. Mommy wanted to offer her a special dinner, but considering she is barely eating anything right now that proved to be tough so she ended up having her normal dinner of bananas and cheese crackers. After dinner we sat on the living room floor in hopes of a gift opening session, but she wasn't a happy camper the whole time (getting too close to bedtime) so we did the best we could.

Daddy & Mommy got her a 3-1 trike. It sits on a base & rocks which she currently thinks is a lot of fun. The base unhooks & flips up to become a handle so that this summer we can push her while we go for walks. Later, when she is big enough, the handle comes all the way off & it is simply a trike for her to ride. She rocked on it for a short time tonight, but was much more interested in walking around it & sucking on the handles.

Mommy also bought her a remote control of her own. Pushing the buttons over & over making it impossible to watch tv is one of her favorite pasttimes. This probably won't replace the real thing for long, but I had to give it a shot. |
Mommy's friend, Tisha, bought Mya this extremely soft & cute teddy bear. It glows & changes colors. We tried to get some pictures of it, but they didn't quite turn out. Mya hugged it as soon as she got her hands on it. |
Overall, I think Mya had a very good 1st birthday. We can not believe that a year has past by so quickly, but it has been a wonderful year. Mya has definitely redefined our lives. We are looking forward to sharing our celebration with everyone this weekend. |
Family News...

Unfortunately, we have bad news this past week. Grandpa Jim is in the hospital. Due to severe fluid in his lungs & near his heart, he was placed under sedation with a ventilator & is now fighting for the strength to breathe on his own again. Things have so far been grim, but we hope for better news with each passing day. We would appreciate it if everyone would keep both him & Grandma Robinson in their thoughts while they get through this very hard time.
On a brighter note, news out of Albuquerque: Uncle Zane & Aunt Jeanie placed their house on the market Monday. We have our fingers crossed that it sells quickly so that they can start looking for a new home in San Antonio.
