Almost 1 year old & not a single tooth to be found!

We haven't been in a big hurry for Mya to cut teeth. The toothless grins & smacking of the gums is cute & endearing. However, in the last couple of weeks she has slowly stopped being interested in food of any kind, but especially in baby food. After tasting the Stage 3 varieties Mommy really can't blame her! Without teeth the number of table foods we can offer her tends to be somewhat limited. Currently, we are eating mainly bananas, yogurt, cheese, green bean & carrot tidbits, &, of course, the favorite Cheerios.
The switch has also been made from formula to regular milk. Other than a couple rough days of bad diaper rash, we think she has adjusted quite well to the change. She is even drinking a great deal of it out of a sippy cup so we hope that bottles are on their way out. It is quite a challenge to get her to eat enough, but like everything else Mya makes it an interesting & amusing adventure.

How can we resist that face?!?!

Please note the all important toe hold which occurs during all feedings.

The Amusement for the Week

Many months ago Grandpa & Grandma Robinson bought Mya this hippo which is supposed to be used as a type of sweeper. When the child walks behind it & pushes it the mouth moves up & down to pick up blocks, balls & other small toys & deposits them into the belly. We got the toy back out this past week to give her something new to push as she continues her walking quest. Although Mya has walked behind it on several occasions, she is not at all thrilled by the toys appearing & instead has decided the best way to use the belly is to sit in it herself. Of course, she doesn't fit quite right & we have had to rescue her from being trapped on several occasions this week.

She's also practicing for the How Big of a Disc Can You Fit in Your Mouth contest. We think she is going to win hands down!

Family News.....

Uncle Quinn & Lisa announced the final decision on the name for their new baby girl:
Natalie Kaye Miller

Mommy was very surprised & honored that they have decided to use her middle name. We all are very anxious to meet the newest member of our family. For those of you who don't know she is due April 22nd so less than 2 months away now!

Uncle Zane had news this week as well. He finally got official word on where he will be stationed next: San Antonio, Texas! They will most likely be moving there sometime in late April & Zane begins working in mid-May. We know they are looking forward to the move & we can't wait to visit them there!
